Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Special Events Project Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Executive Director for Alumni Affairs and Special Events, you will play a crucial role in planning, coordinating, and executing fundraising, recognition, and university-wide events.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the development and implementation of a wide range of events, including alumni dinners, festivals, galas, regional gatherings, holiday parties, reunions, and homecoming celebrations.
- Manage all aspects of event planning, from logistics and venue selection to vendor contracts, production, and financial oversight.
- Create comprehensive event budgets and ensure efficient financial management throughout the planning process.
- Develop and maintain a detailed project timeline, ensuring timely completion of tasks and alignment with department goals.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams, including marketing, communications, and development, to ensure seamless event execution.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external vendors, partners, and stakeholders.
- Analyze event outcomes and prepare reports to assess success and identify areas for improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in fundraising, event management, or project coordination, preferably within a higher education setting.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms.
