Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Technician to join our team at Coinstar, LLC. As a Field Technician, you will be responsible for performing first and second line maintenance on Coinstar kiosks within an assigned territory. This role requires strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preventative Maintenance: Perform scheduled maintenance tasks, including cleaning, wiping down kiosks, removing debris, and replacing paper.
  • Troubleshooting and Repair: Identify and resolve electromechanical issues, calibrate equipment, and perform repairs using small tools and diagnostic utilities.
  • Testing and Quality Assurance: Test all components of the kiosk to ensure proper functionality, including connectivity, software, and electromechanical systems.
  • Remote Support: Provide technical assistance to Service Representatives and Transportation Service Representatives, and assist with remote diagnostics and repairs.
  • Field Change Orders: Manage and prioritize field change orders, including updates to signage and displays, software updates, and wireless kit installations.
  • Route Planning and Management: Plan and prioritize daily tasks, including service calls, field change orders, and geography-based tasks.
  • Market Metrics and Reporting: Monitor market metrics and construct/adjust weekly plans to ensure balanced delivery of metrics and expectations.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent with 2+ years of experience in troubleshooting and repair of computer, electronic, and electromechanical devices, or Associate Degree in electronics or similar concentration.
  • Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, intermediate knowledge of current PC operating systems, and ability to use small tools and diagnostic utilities.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Requirements
  • Valid Driver's License: Must have a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record.
  • Background Checks: Background checks, MVR, and drug tests will be required.
  • Flexible Schedule: As required, employees must work a flexible schedule, including early start times, holidays, weekends, etc.
Physical Requirements

Field Technician work involves operating a motor vehicle to service kiosks within a specific region or route. Regularly and safely perform all functions of operating a motor vehicle, including prolonged sitting. Regularly position oneself to handle or move objects weighing up to 30 lbs. Occasionally move or lift objects up to 85 lbs., and occasionally move coin bins weighing up to 600 lbs. using a specially designed hand truck or pallet jack. Regularly operate a laptop and mobile phone. Communicate and exchange information with co-workers and other individuals in person or electronically.
