About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Hospice and Palliative Care Physician to join our team at the Department of Veterans Affairs. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care, education, and support to our patients and their families.

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive care to patients with serious illnesses, focusing on pain and symptom management, and improving quality of life.
  • Collaborate with the Palliative Care Team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, conferences, and meetings to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Conduct patient and family education sessions to promote understanding of their condition and treatment options.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research, guidelines, and best practices in hospice and palliative care.
Requirements
  • Board certification in Hospice and Palliative Medicine or a related field.
  • Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the United States.
  • Completion of a residency program in a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
