Position Overview:

The ideal candidate will possess a background in plastics engineering, although it is not a strict requirement. Experience in plastic injection molding is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the construction and validation of injection mold tooling.
  • Manage the development and validation of specialized equipment and automation.
  • Formulate specifications for tooling and automation processes.
  • Assess, quote, and present tailored solutions for unique manufacturing requests from clients.
  • Conduct thorough design evaluations of injection mold tooling and specialized automation equipment.
  • Develop and execute validation processes for equipment and procedures used in the production of medical components and devices.
  • Collaborate with Project Engineers in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Support the Sales and Marketing teams in crafting proposals.
  • Assist manufacturing teams with troubleshooting specialized equipment and automation.
  • Engage in investigations of customer complaints and implement corrective actions.
  • Complete internal Six Sigma Blackbelt training and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Willingness to travel for meetings with clients and suppliers as necessary.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • May be tasked with Quality Engineering duties as required.
  • May be expected to facilitate or participate in training and informational meetings.

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of mold flow principles.
  • Expertise in scientific processing, including transferring processes between machines.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Project.
  • Familiarity with RJG Master Molder (preferred).
  • Knowledge of Beaumont AIM (preferred).
