We currently have an opening for a Food Scientist focused on Protein Applications and Seasonings.

In this role, you will be responsible for conducting product evaluations, matching seasonings with finished goods, and creating new offerings tailored for protein-based applications.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Reverse engineering and developing products for clients based on ingredient specifications, cost constraints, performance metrics, and sensory attributes.
  • Creating meat flavor systems (including whole muscle, ground, topical applications, marinades, etc.) in collaboration with Meat Pilot Plant personnel.
  • Engaging with suppliers and the procurement team to identify suitable raw materials necessary for developing high-quality products, including seeking technical advice and support on applications.
  • Collaborating with team members to gain insights and technical support regarding project applications and suitability.
  • Assessing the cost feasibility of ingredients and finished products.

Key Qualifications Include:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in food science or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Prior experience in food product development is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, including a comprehensive understanding of ingredient functionality across various food products and the ability to create successful formulations.
  • Proven track record of excellent communication skills, teamwork, confidence, enthusiasm, and initiative, with the ability to collaborate closely with clients.
  • Exceptional technical writing and computer proficiency.
