POSITION SUMMARY:

The role entails collaborating with various processing departments to address discrepancies in inventory, handsorting, and packing as required. Accuracy in work orders and timely submission of transactions are paramount. The position also involves supporting supervisors in managing work orders while fostering teamwork to ensure data integrity. This role demands multitasking abilities and adaptability to last-minute changes in product SKUs and processing orders.


Safety Commitment: Uphold a culture of safety by adhering to all safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space, Fall Protection, and Hazard Communication.

Quality Assurance: Execute all responsibilities in line with established Quality and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) policies.

Continuous Improvement: Engage actively in continuous improvement initiatives, contributing to lean processes and enhancing product throughput.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Familiarize with work order processes for each machine.
  • Establish effective communication with inventory clerks.
  • Ensure timely closure of work orders through team collaboration.
  • Resolve issues related to raw kernel and inshell processing work order variances.
  • Implement FIFO principles when generating bin reports.
  • Accurately tag Work in Process (WIP) items.
  • Create or adjust work orders to meet product or machine requirements.
  • Collaborate with processing teams to rectify variances in work orders and inventory.
  • Notify the inventory department of any discrepancies for resolution.
  • Monitor daily schedules for all processing departments and address any arising questions with the scheduling team.
  • Investigate duplicate bins and coordinate corrections with team members.
  • Work alongside Quality Control to ensure bins are accurately classified before generating reports.
  • Train staff on proper processes and follow up with leadership regarding any retraining needs.
  • Encourage interdepartmental collaboration.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized workspace.
  • Keep thorough documentation and respond to communications promptly.
  • Optimize time management and familiarize with departmental needs.
  • Perform packing, handsorting, and other duties as assigned based on company requirements.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a production clerk role within a manufacturing setting.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.

SKILLS:

  • Experience with Sage/ERP systems is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with work order creation and variance management is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is beneficial.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus.
  • Forklift operation experience is an asset.
  • Strong time and project management skills are essential.
  • Knowledge of office equipment is required.
  • Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
  • Professional collaboration with cross-functional teams is expected.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This role may involve working in a manufacturing environment with high noise levels. Outdoor conditions may include extreme temperatures and humidity, as well as dusty environments. The physical demands include sitting, walking, standing, climbing stairs, and reaching. The ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally is required. Vision requirements include close, distance, color vision, and depth perception. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be necessary as designated by the company.
