Prokatchers is in search of a Travel Sterile Processing Technician for an exciting opportunity.
Position OverviewThe role involves ensuring the cleanliness and sterilization of surgical instruments and medical equipment. The technician will be responsible for:
- Specialty: Sterile Processing Technician
- Discipline: Allied Health Professional
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Work Hours: 40 hours per week
- Shifts: 8 hours, available for days and nights
- Employment Type: Travel
The technician will:
- Process and sterilize surgical instruments and hospital equipment.
- Assemble surgical instrument sets and trays.
- Distribute necessary patient care supplies and equipment.
- Work with minimal supervision while mentoring and training staff on technical skills.
- Perform decontamination and processing of instruments, ensuring accurate counts and records.
- Maintain a clean working environment, including regular cleaning of autoclaves and high disinfection equipment.
- Assist with the turnover and cleaning of operating rooms as needed.
- Conduct daily diagnostic testing on sterilizing equipment.
- Evaluate instruments for functionality and safety during reprocessing.
- Provide reprocessing services for various ancillary department instruments.
To be considered for this position, candidates should possess:
- Education: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent; Associates/Technical Degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of two years in sterile processing preferred.
- Certifications: Required certifications include Sterile Processing Technician certification and Basic Life Support (BLS).
