About the Role: As a seasoned Communications Strategist, you will be responsible for developing and executing NextGen America's organizational brand and voice, overseeing message strategy, and managing a team that engages in press outreach and social media. This role is a key part of our HQ team as a department head and a member of the senior staff team.

The successful candidate will lead the team as we aim to educate and mobilize young Americans and demonstrate their political power in 2025 and beyond. You will also be a key helper in crafting principal communications for NextGen America's president and executive director, donor messaging in collaboration with the Development team, political and advocacy messaging with the partnerships/political team, and voter contact messaging alongside the programmatic staff.

The ideal candidate has a passion for politics and progressive social change, with at least two election cycles experience managing a communications team in a campaign or advocacy environment. Experience working with program teams on developing voter-facing messaging is required. Additionally, experience pitching reporters, booking TV appearances, and working with partner organizations on shared communications strategies is a must; openness to working with earned media outlets focused on people of color, young folks, and other communities often overlooked or ignored by more traditional media sources is highly valued.

This role reports to the Chief of Staff and offers a fully remote position with no location requirement. We encourage candidates from all locations within the United States to apply. The estimated salary range for this position is $132,000-$158,000.
