Job Description

The Pew Charitable Trusts is an independent, non-profit organization that works to advance public policy and apply research evidence to improve lives. We are seeking a skilled Public Health Data Strategist to join our team in Washington, D.C. This exciting role will play a crucial part in shaping our public health data strategy, working closely with state and local health agencies to collect, analyze, and use high-quality data to detect, prevent, and treat the nation's costliest and deadliest diseases.

As a Public Health Data Strategist, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to advance our public health data goals, collaborating with stakeholders to build capacity and promote effective data sharing, and advocating for policies and resources that support the use of health care data to improve health outcomes.

This is a full-time position based in our Washington, D.C. office. You will work closely with our team to achieve our project goals, including fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive work environment that aligns with Pew's values and priorities.

About the Role
  • Project Leadership: Lead the development and execution of our public health data strategy, collaborating with stakeholders to advance our goals and objectives.
  • Capacity Building: Work with state and local health agencies to build their capacity to collect, analyze, and use high-quality data to inform public health decision-making.
  • Data Sharing: Advocate for policies and resources that support the sharing of electronic health record systems and promote the use of health care data to improve health outcomes.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in health and/or public policy, including experience developing and executing objectives to advance policy change.
  • Strong knowledge of the public health and health care data landscape, including familiarity with health information technology, interoperability, and relevant federal and state policies.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and analytical skills, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Salary and Benefits

This is a competitive salary range of $159,200 USD - $177,900 USD, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, life and disability insurance, flexible spending accounts, retirement benefits, and work/life benefits.
