Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver and assess response to ordered therapy per plan of care, ensuring accurate and timely treatment of patients with respiratory disorders.
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate, utilizing critical thinking skills and decisive judgment to make informed decisions.
  • Evaluate respiratory care policies and procedures based on patient outcomes, current research, and best practices, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
  • Respond to codes and calls for emergent assistance, demonstrating expertise and composure in high-pressure situations.
  • Educate patients and families about respiratory health, providing information and resources to support their well-being and independence.
Requirements
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification
  • PALS Certification
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification
  • BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date
  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
  • Registered as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
  • State licensure if required by law
