Automation Systems Engineer
The Automation Systems Engineer will lead and guide the design and innovation of automation products.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the technical adequacy and design feasibility of automation and component product lines through the Automation platform team.
- Interpret military and industrial standards relevant to the automation and component product lines and their performance criteria.
- Provide project and technical guidance, ensuring a structured, precise, and timely workflow for the members of the Automation platform team.
- Collaborate with certification and testing personnel to guarantee that all Automation & Components meet the necessary certifications and testing requirements.
- Establish and uphold an efficient testing and certification process to confirm that the company's products fulfill specified standards.
- Lead and manage the essential testing to achieve and maintain the required Qualified Products Listings for the company's products, product certifications, and QPL status.
- Act as the authorized representative and technical liaison for compliance with certification and qualification groups concerning product certifications and qualifications.
- Develop engineering policies for the Automation platform team.
- Oversee the Automation platform team, managing salary administration, professional growth, and performance evaluations in accordance with standards.
Qualifications
- Communicate and coordinate with clients as necessary to achieve desired product and performance outcomes.
- Provide technical assistance for quoting, application development, review of client documents/specifications, and other assigned tasks.
- Coordinate and direct activities to achieve automation designs that meet quality, performance, and delivery expectations.
- Ensure control of product performance, testing certifications, and QPL as necessary.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement Task Teams.
- Utilize knowledge of automation development and testing, specifications, certifications, and QPL to foster improvements within the Automation platform team, supporting the company's business objectives.
- Prepare for advanced technical leadership roles.
- Assist in the development of assigned team members.
- Engage in 6S, continuous improvement, on-time delivery, total preventative maintenance, and the submission of improvement suggestions.
- BSEE Degree with an electrical engineering background.
- 10 years of experience supporting military programs is preferred.
- Functional knowledge of relevant automation design and specifications is advantageous.
- Programming experience is beneficial.
