Job Description

AbbVie is seeking a highly skilled Procurement Capability Product Owner to spearhead the strategic development of procurement capabilities within the organization. This role will define and shape a visionary roadmap for procurement product areas, collaborating with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to develop capabilities aligned with organizational goals and compatible with procurement processes and existing technical architecture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a capability roadmap for individual product areas, reporting to the Capability Process and Product Lead to refine vision and ensure alignment with broader Tech & Systems goals.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand current and future process and technical needs and identify necessary capabilities to solve pain points.
  • Drive the product development process, creating product backlog items and actioning against them according to priority-level, as determined by capability roadmap and stakeholder input.
  • Work closely with BTS team in the execution of product backlog items, tactically reviewing product integrations and impact on existing infrastructure.
  • Gather feedback from internal and external stakeholders leveraging products to identify opportunities for continuous improvement in both the existing capabilities and the product roll-out process.
  • Track progress of product development against backlog for respective product area, reporting to the Capability Product Manager and updating strategic roadmap as needed.
  • Contribute to a team environment that values product excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required; concentration in Computer Science, Information Systems or other tech field preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in procurement, technology, or related business or operations function.
  • Experience managing cross-functional initiatives and interfacing with senior leaders.
  • Proven expertise in technology systems and product development in a procurement function.
  • Experience developing capability roadmaps and driving execution towards organizational objectives.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Track record for leading COUPA implementations.
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
