Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Junior Financial Accountant to join our Finance team. This full-time, in-office role involves a variety of essential accounting tasks that support the daily operations of our department.


Key Responsibilities:

This list of duties is not exhaustive and may be expanded to include additional responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable:
    • Maintain an accurate and complete vendor file, updating information as needed.
    • Input vendor invoices into the ERP system for processing.
    • Verify that received invoices match purchase orders and receiving reports before authorizing payment. Address discrepancies promptly with relevant teams.
    • Conduct statement reviews to ensure alignment between vendor data and the ERP system.
    • Prepare and submit monthly sales/use tax returns.
    • Issue sales tax exemption forms and credit reference letters to vendors when required.
  • Accounts Receivable:
    • Ensure accurate billing of customers.
    • Monitor accounts receivable records and follow up with customers to encourage timely payments.
    • Resolve any discrepancies related to accounts or billing efficiently.
    • Participate in periodic aging reviews with senior management.
    • Assist in gathering and analyzing data necessary for cash flow forecasting.
  • General Ledger and Accounting Close Cycle:
    • Support the month-end accounting close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and necessary reporting.
  • Costing:
    • Assist in the collection and analysis of data required for product costing.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated.
  • Strong analytical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Office applications.
Education and Experience:

Associate degree in accounting or equivalent experience is required. Familiarity with Syteline or similar ERP systems is preferred.


Compensation:

The salary range for this position is $45,000.00 to $52,000.00 per year.
