Job Summary

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving market growth and expansion in North America. This role will focus on developing and maintaining relationships with channel partners and end-users to maximize market positioning and increase revenue and profits for SPX FLOW, Inc.

Key Responsibilities
  • Understand the market, its drivers, trends, key stakeholders, and competitive landscape
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive technical knowledge of homogenizers, applications, features, advantages, and benefits
  • Develop a solid commercial strategy to generate better penetration and sales growth
  • Work collaboratively with the channel, marketing, and product managers to identify synergies and market opportunities
  • Proactively approach business and social interactions to expand contacts and opportunities
  • Increase sales to existing and new accounts
  • Attend to and advocate for customer needs
  • Prioritize customer satisfaction as a primary objective
  • Achieve results by understanding the customer's business, empathizing with their challenges, and developing a plan to meet their needs
  • Target and qualify channels by assessing interest level, capacity, and fit
  • Collaborate across multiple functions with key internal stakeholders to scope opportunities accurately
  • Identify the customer values and attitudes that fit with SPX FLOW homogenizers and ensure alignment with the channels
  • Use analytical rigor to target, scope, and build the business case for specific opportunities
  • Growth sales with win-win outcomes
Requirements
  • Solid understanding of business, financials, commercial activities, and products/services
  • Strategic thinking and experience in developing and implementing business plans
  • Analytic capabilities: monitor sales, win-loss analysis, pipeline trends, and excellent communication skills
  • Influence cross-functional teams and exhibit proficiency in Consultative Selling
  • Handle negotiations of higher complexity and have a drive to win
  • Market knowledge of SPX FLOW and/or competitive products
  • Read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial and market reports, and legal documents
  • Participation in industry events such as trade shows and seminars
Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) in Business or Engineering from a four-year college or university, plus five to seven (5-7) years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

Commercial background preferred
