Role Summary:

The Licensed Child and Family Counselor will conduct diagnostic assessments and provide psychotherapy for outpatient clients, utilizing individual, family, and group therapy techniques. This role involves collaboration with a child psychiatrist and a multidisciplinary health team to develop and implement tailored treatment plans for each client.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct evaluations and deliver therapeutic interventions for children under 12, adolescents, and their families seeking mental health support.
  • Perform comprehensive assessments including formulation, differential diagnosis, and safety planning.
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic approaches for effective intervention and management, encompassing individual, family, and group therapy.
  • Maintain effective communication with parents, relevant contacts, external agencies, educational institutions, and other service providers regarding treatment strategies.
  • Consult with child psychiatrists regarding patient progress and treatment plans; collaborate with attending physicians for hospitalized patients.
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation of clinical services and interactions.
  • Engage with medical professionals concerning patient symptoms, treatment plans, responses to interventions, and recommendations for care.
