Position Overview

The Frozen Food Supervisor serves as the primary liaison for customers at Albertsons, delivering friendly, courteous, and efficient service. This role involves training, overseeing, scheduling, and assigning tasks to Frozen Food Clerks. The supervisor is responsible for updating signage and pricing as directed by merchandising guidelines. Maintaining optimal stock levels and inventory in the frozen food section is crucial, along with minimizing out-of-stock situations. The supervisor will document frozen food orders in the order guide and verify order completeness upon delivery. Daily tasks include rotating products and discarding expired items, ensuring that frozen food displays are well-stocked and the department area is clean. Additionally, received goods are organized onto pallets and transported to the sales floor using a pallet jack. Cardboard waste is managed appropriately, and the ice machine is checked and replenished as necessary. End displays are restocked according to instructions, and any spills are promptly cleaned.

In the event of equipment failure or power interruptions, the supervisor is responsible for removing all products, cleaning the affected areas, and restocking as needed.

This position may also require functioning as a cashier during busy periods.

Key Responsibilities
Frozen Food Supervisors at Albertsons are typically tasked with the following duties:

  • Deliver customer service in alignment with company standards and policies.
  • Train, schedule, and supervise Frozen Food staff to ensure effective department operations.
  • Engage with customers to address concerns related to sales, service satisfaction, or product issues.
  • Conduct daily inventory checks and order supplies to maintain adequate stock levels.
  • Restock items in coolers, freezers, and display areas.
  • Ensure all expired products are removed from shelves daily.
  • Unload deliveries and organize products on pallets or carts, transporting them throughout the store.
  • Maintain cleanliness in display areas and freezers.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Ability to adhere to company customer service protocols, with prior experience in customer service preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective interaction with customers and team members.
  • Capability to work independently and follow instructions accurately.
  • Previous experience in a retail or grocery environment is desirable.

Supervisory Duties
Overseeing Frozen Food Clerks and Helper Clerks within the department.

Work Environment
Predominantly indoors (95%), with minimal outdoor exposure (5%).

Physical Requirements
Frequent lifting (1-20 lbs) and occasional lifting (21-35 lbs). Constantly required to stand and walk during shifts. Tasks may involve pushing/pulling items weighing up to 50 lbs. Frequent reaching and handling/grasping motions are necessary.

Compensation and Benefits
