Position Summary
The Accountant for King's Schools plays a vital role in supporting CRISTA's mission by delivering exceptional attention to detail and customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
This position is responsible for managing a high volume of billing tasks, overseeing accounts receivable, and addressing inquiries from families and the community.
The Accountant will lead various systems, maintain records, ensure internal controls, and prepare necessary financial documentation, including journal entries and reconciliations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Enrollment Billing Management:
Oversee the billing process for King's Schools by updating the billing system with tuition amounts and establishing payment plans for admitted families.
Process financial aid awards and discounts accurately, and maintain updated family information in the system.
Handle all Student Revision forms throughout the academic year.
2. Incremental Billing Oversight:
Manage billing for additional charges incurred during the school year for various activities and services.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proper management of these charges and respond to family inquiries.
Provide accounting support for summer camp billing and monitor receipts and expenses for mission trips.
3. Accounts Receivable Administration:
Track and reconcile payments received for King's Schools, ensuring timely follow-up on outstanding balances.
Maintain communication with families regarding overdue accounts and coordinate with the Sr. Accounting Manager for necessary actions.
4. Support for Accounting Department:
Act as a liaison between King's Schools and Accounts Payable to facilitate invoice processing.
Assist in resolving issues related to missing or unpaid invoices and support schools in gathering required documentation for payments.
Essential Qualifications
1. Faith Commitment:
Must be a committed Christian who actively engages in spiritual growth and aligns with CRISTA's mission and values.
2. Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution, or equivalent relevant experience.
3. Experience:
Minimum of two years in Accounting/Finance and customer service roles.
4. Software Proficiency:
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experienced with automated accounting or ERP systems.
5. Additional Skills:
Ability to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and adaptability in dynamic environments.
