Key Responsibilities:

As a Tax Manager, your daily activities will include:

  • Preparation of individual, partnership, trust, estate, and corporate tax returns, as well as property and sales & use tax returns.
  • Drafting correspondence to tax authorities and creating detailed work papers.
  • Identifying accounting and income tax issues and proposing strategies for resolution.
  • Assisting with IRS examinations and protests.
  • Engaging in tax planning and researching technical accounting issues.
  • Building strong relationships with personnel across various divisions.
  • Assisting with quarterly state estimated taxes and extensions.
  • Supporting any state income/franchise and sales & use tax examinations.
  • Reviewing fixed assets for compliance with tax depreciation methods and useful lives.

Qualifications:

  • BA or BS degree in accounting is required.
  • Active CPA License.
  • 5+ years of proven experience in taxation.
  • Highly proficient in MS Office, Lacerte, Intuit ProConnect Online, QuickBooks Online, or other equivalent accounting software.
  • A genuine desire to learn and grow within the tax field, coupled with a passion for tax work.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to think independently while also following directions.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Results-driven mindset, capable of thriving in a culture of accountability.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with Big 4 or large firms is advantageous.
