Production Manager

Job Summary:
The Production Supervisor at Piston Automotive is responsible for overseeing plant employees in a manufacturing and assembly environment. This role involves planning and assigning work, implementing policies and procedures, and recommending improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures, and working conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Educate employees on plant safety requirements and ensure adherence to policies and procedures on the plant floor.
- Review daily production requirements and align manpower to run assembly operations safely and efficiently.
- Ensure production employees are trained in accordance with standard work instructions.
- Manage, motivate, and lead production employees to meet production requirements within quality standards and customer delivery schedules.
- Conduct shift meetings to review daily activity and ensure effective communication between shifts.
- Coach, counsel, and administer corrective actions to production employees in enforcing plant policies, procedures, and rules.
- Monitor equipment and progress to schedule attainment and resolve any issues.
- Complete daily safety, production, and quality reports as required.
- Ensure accurate employee time and attendance in the system.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in plant operations.
Qualifications:
- Four years of experience as a Production Supervisor or related experience.
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Supervisor Certification.
- Green Belt Certification.
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.

PREFERRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
