Senior Security Director

The Senior Director, EITS Security is responsible for overseeing and directing the implementation of corporate information security policies, processes, and safeguards to protect patient, employee, and proprietary confidential data.
Key Responsibilities- Provide oversight and direction to ensure consistent application of information security policies, processes, and safeguards.
- Collaborate with the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to develop and execute the enterprise security program.
- Develop and implement a threat hunting program to identify and mitigate potential security threats.
- Utilize Security Incident & Event Management (SIEM) technologies, host forensics tools, Endpoint Detection & Response tools, and network forensics to perform threat hunting and investigative activities.
- Stay current with vulnerability information across all products in the H+H environment and maintain knowledge of the threat landscape.
- Attend regular team meetings and facilitate meetings between stakeholders, project leaders, and the Information Technology teams to implement remediation plans in response to incidents.
- Oversee the implementation of a 24 x 7 managed security operations center (SOC) and ensure people, process, and technology are embedded with H+H policies and procedures.
- Identify and implement emerging security technologies, information systems security issues, safeguards, and techniques.
- Review information security policies and procedures as directed by the organization's Information Security Policy Steering Committee and in conjunction with NYC H+H related policies.
- Participate in all relevant audits and risk assessment activities and respond to requests from regulating bodies and certifications such as NYS, OCR, CMS, American College of Surgeons, and Joint Commission.
- Participate in emergency preparedness and business continuity planning exercises.
- Ensure the execution of periodic reviews of the security stack to ensure optimal performance.
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Healthcare Administration, Health Care Planning, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related discipline.
- Seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in health and medical service administration, public administration, personnel and labor relations, finance, or appropriate functional discipline with an emphasis on planning, liaison, and inter-organizational relationships.
- Certification(S)/NYS Licenses/Education: CISSP, GSEC, CEH, GCFA, or other relevant security qualification.
- Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and other Requirements: Healthcare industry experience required with understanding of EMR systems and data privacy issues related to PHI; excellent written and verbal communication skills; interpersonal and collaborative skills; and the ability to communicate information security and risk-related concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
