DPS - IOD - Electronic Security Specialist

TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY is seeking a highly skilled Electronic Security Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our IOD team, you will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining electronic security equipment statewide.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with planning and implementing projects from design through installation.
- Report on project progress, track spending, and document all relevant data.
- Install, configure, maintain, and administer physical security servers, including video platform applications and security vulnerability patches.
- Maintain and program cameras, AI phones, access control equipment, and associated security devices.
- Define and manage user roles and access levels for video applications and access control systems.
- Conduct training for Electronic Security Technicians and end users on access control systems and video management software.
- Monitor and track physical security servers, access control components, and camera equipment for end-of-life and report to management for replacement or upgrade funding.
- Assist with special investigation requests and internal audits for internal divisions and external agencies.
- Attend work regularly and observe approved work hours in accordance with agency leave and attendance policies.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree with a major or coursework emphasis in electronics or computer management systems preferred.
- Minimum of two years' experience performing technical installation of security access control and video surveillance equipment.
- Valid driver's license from the state of residence.
- Working knowledge of TXDPS, State, and Federal regulations, legislation, guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and utilized software and systems, including CAPPS, SharePoint, and Fac Connect.
- Ability to exercise poise, tact, diplomacy, and establish positive working relationships with internal and external customers.
- Organized, flexible, and able to prioritize in a multi-demand and constantly changing environment.
- Ability to construct and deliver clear, concise, and professional presentations and/or communications to various audiences.
