About the Role

The Health Unit Coordinator/Nursing Assistant (HUC NA) plays a vital role in our interdisciplinary patient care team, supporting patients with activities of daily living and performing patient care skills as delegated by licensed nurses. This dynamic role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a member of the patient care team, collaborating with nursing staff, physicians, and interdepartmental personnel to ensure seamless delivery of care.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies.
  • Support patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, as well as assisting with meal preparation and medication management.
  • Perform patient care skills as delegated by licensed nurses, adhering to the Ohio Board of Nursing Scope of Practice.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Successful completion of KH Health Coordinator training upon hire into role.
  • Successful completion of KH Nursing Assistant Orientation upon hire into role.
  • Certification in CPR/BLS.
  • One of the following: six months experience as a nursing assistant in a hospital or long-term care facility, completion of Nursing Assistant course in the last six months, nursing student or listed as pre-nursing as shown on transcripts, or current employee with Kettering Health.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this role is $45,000 - $60,000, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to competitive compensation, Kettering Health offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, and paid time off.
