Position Overview:

We are seeking individuals with a Ph.D. in the biological sciences, specifically in the areas of genetics, virology, and/or microbiology.

Role Responsibilities:

Participants will assist in exploring the implications of biology-related capabilities within search and language models. This involves engaging with an innovative AI chatbot as part of a research initiative.

The estimated time commitment for this task is six hours, which includes an initial hour for orientation and instruction, followed by five hours of interaction with the chatbot. Refreshments will be provided throughout the duration of the task. Participants will have the flexibility to choose between weekdays or weekends based on their availability.

Task Duration:
6 hours

Work Environment:
On-Site (Los Angeles and/or South Bay area, CA and Washington, D.C.)

Compensation:
USD 600 per session

Payment Methods:

Participants can receive payments via GoGift Cards on the day following the completion of the study or through Hyperwallet (via the TELUS International AI Community Platform). Payments will be processed a few weeks after the study concludes.


Candidate Requirements:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Proficient in English
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a U.S. permanent resident with a valid permanent resident card or a registered refugee (student visas are not eligible)
  • Ability to commute to the designated on-site location
  • Possession of a Ph.D. in the biological sciences with a focus on genetics, virology, and/or microbiology (proof required via an attached Ph.D. degree certificate)
  • A minimum of one year of practical experience in a wet lab setting (e.g., pipetting, cell culture, gel electrophoresis)
  • At least one year of experience in biosecurity (e.g., work in national security, U.S. Department of Defense, or with a government contractor on biosecurity projects; includes research or operational experience in bioweapons, pandemic preparedness, biodefense, dual-use synthetic biology, etc.) and/or relevant academic experience
  • Participants may register only once for the study
  • Must successfully pass a background check
