Job Description

The **General Manager** will ensure that members receive the highest quality of service and facilities at Crunch Fitness - Northeast Florida. This individual will be responsible for motivating, leading, and supervising employees to achieve financial targets and company-wide policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administration and Organization
    • Demonstrate a working knowledge of all standard operating procedures and policies that pertain to the club.
    • Communicate and implement club policies and procedures to employees.
    • Encourage staff to work as a team and be productive.
    • Illustrate an ability to make decisions.
    • Recruit and hire the highest possible caliber of staff.
  • Sales and Revenue Management
    • Demonstrate the ability to lead, motivate, and manage team.
    • Achieve desired sales goals.
    • Achieve desired revenue goals through the leadership and motivation of employees.
    • Implement and support company programs and promotions to help generate new sales leads for optimum new membership growth.
    • Ensure that the team maintains proper tracking forms and the daily leads.
    • Ensure that all promotions are effectively communicated to the team and all other appropriate staff.
    • Ensure ongoing prospecting and generation of new prospective members.
    • Review sales-related written communication, such as proposals, letters, and promotional pieces, for effectiveness, spelling, accuracy, and distribution.
    • Ensure that staff has a high level of knowledge about the club's programs, facilities, and equipment.
    • Emphasize the importance of staff involvement in the community and neighborhood businesses.
  • Personal Training and Revenue Management
    • Demonstrate the ability to lead, motivate, and manage the personal training department.
    • Achieve desired personal training revenue and session production goals.
    • Achieve desired revenue and production results through the leadership and motivation of employees.
    • Implement and support company programs and promotions to help generate new personal training client acquisition for optimum member base penetration.
    • Facilitate the integration of personal training products into point-of-sale presentations to maximize the number of orientation sessions scheduled and packages sold.
    • Ensure that the personal training team follows proper procedures in session redemption.
    • Oversee the PT manager to ensure that all components of departmental objectives are satisfied.
  • Operations
    • Coordinate and work within club support functions of fitness, sales, and marketing, accounting, and information technology.
    • Support personnel-related problems or difficulties by following club procedure and documentation.
    • Resolve member complaints in an expeditious and tactful manner following club procedure and documentation.
    • Promote a professional and welcoming atmosphere that enhances the quality of service and care offered to members.
    • Ensure that the club meets standards for cleanliness, maintenance, safety, and security.
    • Conduct weekly detailed inspections of the club with the maintenance manager, utilizing a cleaning checklist, and forward information to appreciate staff.
    • Ensure that visible maintenance items are repaired promptly, proper signage is posted, and if possible, out of service equipment is removed from the floor.
    • Reinforce to staff that cleanliness is everyone's responsibility, not just the maintenance staff.
    • Ensure proper inventory of maintenance parts.
    • Track completion of opening/closing checklists, stage management, repair and maintenance log, locker log, and cleaning checklist.
    • Assist in the processing/submission and approval of payroll.
  • Financial
    • Exhibit an understanding of budgets and income statements.
    • Establish controls of expenses and purchasing of club supplies.
    • Display an ability to keep expenses at or below budget.
    • Demonstrate an ability to articulate variances in revenue/sales/expenses versus budget.
  • Leadership and Motivation
    • Serve as a role model for employees.
    • Communicate effectively by holding weekly and individual meetings with all key club personnel.
    • Provide an inspirational environment that welcomes honest feedback from employees and takes action to ensure a quality, working environment.
    • Oversee, support, direct, and develop department heads.
  • Profit Centers
    • Illustrate an ability to drive profit center revenue, such as personal training, retail, etc.
    • Monitor flagged check-ins to increase revenue and collections.
    • Demonstrate an ability to increase revenue per member.
  • Meetings
    • Monthly or weekly department meetings.
    • Employee training meetings.
    • Daily one-minute meetings with club staff.
    • Daily personal training manager meeting.
    • Weekly club management meeting.
    • Annual performance evaluations.
  • Accountabilities
    • Implement and support company programs and promotions to help generate new sales leads for optimum new membership growth.
    • Oversee expense goals by managing payroll and general and administrative expenses.
    • Ensure that the clubs meet Crunch standards for cleanliness, maintenance, safety, security, and physical plant operations.
    • Keep current in knowledge of key competitors.
    • Conduct frequent walk-throughs.
  • Measurement Standards
    • Successful management of all financial budgetary goals.
    • Ensure standards of club cleanliness and customer service excellence.
    • Demonstrate professionalism by leading by example.
    • Membership retention.
    • Timely completion of assigned tasks and projects.
    • Follow all policies and procedures.
