Medical Laboratory Scientist MT/MLS Position

This is a contract job opportunity with potential for permanent placement. The position is for a Medical Laboratory Scientist MT/MLS or Clinical Laboratory Scientist with experience in blood bank and generalist settings. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology, and a minimum of 2-4 years of clinical laboratory testing experience.
Responsibilities:- Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
- Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
- Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
- Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
- Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
- Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
- Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
- Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or meet local regulatory requirements.
- Minimum 2-4 years of clinical laboratory testing experience.
- Proficient with computers and familiarity with laboratory information systems.
- High level of attention to detail, strong communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to pass a standardized color vision screen.
Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs. Benefits are available. Vaccine requirements include Covid and Flu, with declination accepted.
