Job Title: Community Engagement Manager

At the New World Symphony, we are seeking a highly motivated and organized Community Engagement Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and executing community engagement activities, including events, programs, and outreach initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement community engagement strategies to promote the New World Symphony's mission and programs.
  • Collaborate with the Musician Advancement Team to plan and execute events, including logistics, staffing, and technical requests.
  • Manage the MusicLab In-School Teaching Program, including communicating with participating schools, developing engagement plans, and accompanying or developing staffing plans for Fellows' school visits.
  • Organize the Iberacademy/Medellín Exchange Program, including serving as the main point of contact, maintaining relationships with partner leadership and staff, and organizing itineraries, travel, per diem, housing, and hospitality for visitors and Fellows.
  • Prepare Visiting Faculty for CE programs, including organizing workshop or meeting logistics, surveying or debriefing with Fellows and Visiting Faculty on the impact of the training, and assisting in managing Fellow attendance records.
  • Assist in creating the Community Engagement program calendar, including ArtsVision entries, Weekly schedule, and Program Activities Calendar entries and updates.
  • Assist with tracking and forecasting budget for MusicLab and other related CE programs; process payables.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and one to three years of experience in an administrative role; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact positively and sensitively with a wide variety of personalities in various settings.
  • High degree of organization and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; experience with ArtsVision is desired.
  • Knowledge of classical music.
  • Strong commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Passion for the mission of the New World Symphony.
  • Fluency in English is required; fluency in Spanish is desired.
