Job Summary

SAIC is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our Aircraft Launch and Recovery Equipment (ALRE) team in Lakehurst, NJ. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and integrating complex systems, ensuring seamless interactions between legacy and new technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and integrate technical efforts to deliver effective and life-cycle optimized systems.
  • Ensure compatibility of all functional and physical interfaces, both internal and external.
  • Develop and maintain system definitions and designs that reflect requirements for all system elements.
  • Lead engineering efforts in accordance with the Systems Engineering process.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across engineering, logistics, manufacturing, and program leadership to resolve complex problems.
  • Document solutions and technical documentation, including change management, presentations, and white papers.
  • Participate in risk management, configuration management, data management, trade-off analysis, and technical performance measures.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders across program offices, fleet, and industry.

Requirements

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Computer preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of acquisition experience in systems engineering, with a focus on requirements management and verification.
  • Familiarity with the DoN Systems Engineering Process and the DoN Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) policy and process.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with stakeholders of varying technical knowledge and viewpoints.
  • Active Secret clearance required.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with CORE or GENESYS preferred.
  • Experience operating in aviation environments and working with relevant platforms.
  • Production engineering experience, reviewing DoD acquisition documentation.
  • Experience working with Systems Engineering processes or the NAVAIR SE process.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and brief technical issues to leadership.
  • Experience leading engineering teams in design, development, or manufacturing projects.
