We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Access Representative to join our team at the Cardiovascular Institute of the South. As a Patient Access Representative, you will be responsible for scheduling patient appointments, managing phone calls, and maintaining accurate records.
Key Responsibilities- Scheduling Patient Appointments: Schedule patient appointments according to clinic guidelines and templates set up in practice management software.
- Managing Phone Calls: Answer and accurately direct incoming calls in a timely manner, taking messages correctly and routing calls to the appropriate person.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and complete documentation in the patient's medical record, including documentation in both the paper record and the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Communication: Communicate effectively with physicians, staff, patients, and external customers, demonstrating good communication skills and representing the Cardiovascular Institute of the South in a professional manner at all times.
- Compliance: Adhere to the CIS Compliance Plan, attending compliance education and following medical documentation guidelines to maintain compliance.
- High School Diploma: High school diploma preferred.
- Experience: Some experience with a multi-line switchboard preferred.
- Communication Skills: Good communication skills.
- Work Area: Keep work area neat and organized, reporting safety issues to the team leader immediately.
- Time Management: Work efficiently and manage time wisely, assisting other employees when all duties are complete.
- Problem Solving: Communicate any problems, difficulties, or concerns regarding job duties to the team leader.
- Accuracy: Perform all duties without significant error occurring with any regularity.
- Deadlines: Meet all deadlines and timeframes for completion of assignments.
- Professionalism: Represent the Cardiovascular Institute of the South in a professional manner at all times, demonstrating acceptable ability to interact with physicians, staff, and external customers.
