Role Summary:
Lake Michigan Credit Union is seeking a Mortgage Lending Specialist to assist members with their mortgage financing needs. This role involves analyzing loan applications and making informed credit decisions in accordance with mortgage lending guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and analyze mortgage loan documentation to ensure compliance with bank and regulatory standards. Organize loan files, including approvals or denials, and communicate decisions with members.
- Promote the Credit Union's mortgage lending services to individuals and businesses within the real estate sector.
- Determine the eligibility of loans in secondary mortgage markets.
- Cross-sell additional services offered by the Credit Union.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant federal and state regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures, while completing necessary training.
- Stay updated on current trends in mortgage lending and market dynamics that influence the industry.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of three to five years of sales or related experience; prior experience in the mortgage sector is advantageous.
- Must maintain an active registration with the National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
