The Technical Proposal Specialist at Southwire will enhance the efficiency of the industrial sales proposal workflow, from the initial request to the final transaction. This role involves collaborating with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to craft and customize sales proposals and cost assessments that align with client specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with various engineering teams to define and clarify the project scope and determine the most suitable proposal type to fulfill client needs.
  • Contribute technical insights to bid proposals, projects, and technical documentation throughout the sales cycle, while identifying further sales prospects with current clients.
  • Ensure the ongoing development and upkeep of professionally crafted proposals, focusing on formatting, technical editing, and maintaining consistency in layout and design.
  • Work closely with proposal SMEs to edit and conduct quality control on all proposal content, integrating technical data and specifications into clear and concise descriptions.
  • Maintain, update, and enhance the cost estimating database, including preparing cost estimates for new systems and upgrade proposals.
  • Lead efforts to standardize the Proposal and Sales Cycle from initial inquiry to final sale, ensuring integration with the post-sale Project Management process.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Expertise: Proficiency in technical writing, cost estimating, and technical sales.

Preferred:

  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years in a relevant field.
  • Additional Skills: Familiarity with SAP, ISO standards, and Proposal Management Software (such as Qvidian).
