Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager, Mechanical to join our team at the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA). As a key member of our Engineering & Construction department, you will be responsible for managing professional engineering and design projects related to the rehabilitation and capital improvement of waterworks and wastewater facilities and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the planning and design phases of assigned rehabilitation and capital engineering projects, including reviews of reports, memoranda, work plans, designs, cost estimates, and other professional engineering work products.
  • Supervise and perform professional engineering work of substantial difficulty and importance, requiring the exercising of independent engineering judgment, including the gathering of information, development of evaluation and design, and preparation of reports, contract plans, and specifications.
  • Manage all phases of consultant selection and supervision of professional engineering consultant contracts, including the development of scopes of services, plans, and specifications, cost estimates, and work schedules.
  • Participate in negotiations and prepare contract award recommendations, ensuring compliance with contract budgets, schedules, and terms.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Five to seven years of engineering design, project management, and/or construction experience, preferably related to mechanical and HVAC systems serving major water/wastewater facilities.
  • Two years of experience in a supervisory capacity, or any equivalent combination of education or experience.
  • A valid Massachusetts Class D Motor Vehicle Operator's License.
