Our Salina, Kansas site employs 800 skilled professionals and has the capacity to manufacture over 35,000 high-quality batteries daily. These batteries are integral to various applications, including automotive, recreational vehicles, and gardening equipment. Stryten is committed to community engagement, actively participating in local initiatives and volunteer programs.
Role Summary:
The Manufacturing Operations Leader will oversee, coordinate, and assess plant operations to ensure timely delivery of finished products that meet high-quality standards and production targets, all while adhering to established cost objectives and inventory levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage production, quality, volume, cost, scheduling, and inventory compliance.
- Ensure production goals are met by forecasting needs, setting objectives, and prioritizing tasks.
- Identify staffing requirements to optimize throughput while minimizing labor costs.
- Anticipate equipment and tooling needs, recommending solutions to prevent production delays.
- Adhere to budget constraints for overall unit costs.
- Lead the plant's Continuous Improvement initiatives, promoting cost-saving measures.
- Champion safety and health programs by modeling best practices and maintaining clean work environments.
- Meet or exceed product quality benchmarks as indicated by quality control metrics.
- Recognize and develop potential in team members, fostering an inclusive and accountable workplace.
- Facilitate collaboration between shifts, ensuring effective communication and recognition of achievements.
- Address disciplinary issues promptly and recommend appropriate actions.
- Comply with current Quality Systems standards.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, or a related field preferred.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with employees, supervisors, engineers, and corporate officials.
- Minimum of 5 years of senior management experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Proficient in computer applications, including MS Office and Google Suite.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to engage in continuous walking, standing, and lifting activities.
Equipment Utilized:
- Personal computer and standard office equipment.
