Maintenance Technician Job Description

This role is responsible for ensuring the operation of machinery and plant mechanical equipment by completing preventive and planned maintenance requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical and electrical equipment by completing preventive and planned maintenance requirements on plant equipment.
  • Adjusts machinery and repairs or replaces defective parts.
  • Cleans, lubricates, and performs other routine maintenance work on machinery.
  • Assembles machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment.
  • Follows all procedures with regard to Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) and Confined Space Entry.
  • Complies with all safety and health policies and procedures.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
  • Complies with current Quality System requirements.
  • Follows Lean Manufacturing procedures.
  • Performs other work as assigned by management.

Physical Requirements:

  • Occasional heavy lifting of 70 pounds, routine lifting of items up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.
  • Withstands occasional exposure to extreme environmental conditions such as heat, cold, odors, and dust.
  • Ability to climb ladders, squat, bend, and work in confined spaces.

Equipment Used:

  • Hand and Power Tools, welders, grinders, torch, 2-way radio.
  • Personal protective equipment as required.

Qualifications:

  • Must achieve passing score on pre-employment assessment.
  • Mechanical skills.
  • Previous industrial/manufacturing maintenance experience.
