Key Responsibilities- Provide Quality Patient Care: Function as a member of the clinical team, performing a supportive role in the delivery of patient care that is safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable.
- Prepare for Patient Visits: Effectively participate in planning and preparing for patient visits, ensuring appropriate schedules, test results, and clinic-specific requirements are available.
- Room Patients and Document Information: Room patients consistent with clinic needs, determining and documenting chief complaint and reason for visit, vital signs, medication list, allergies, smoking history, and other information as required by clinic.
- Perform Clinical Procedures: As required and competency validated, perform appropriate hearing and vision testing, EKG, spirometry, point-of-care testing, specimen collection, equipment cleaning/reprocessing, and other requested procedures.
- Prepare and Stock Rooms: Prepare and stock rooms (daily/weekly) and clinic supplies in advance of clinic visits, as well as cleaning rooms appropriately between patients.
- Assist with Routine and Specialty Procedures: Prepare for and assist with routine and specialty procedures.
- Schedule Follow-up Appointments: Schedule patients for follow-up appointments or referrals and perform routine clerical duties for the team and staff, including photocopying, scanning, and faxing.
- Respect Patient Confidentiality: Respect and maintain patient privacy and confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines.
- Certification/Skills: Use and care of standard clinic equipment, Basic Life Support (BLS) certified.
- Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent, completion of an approved Medical Assistant training program preferred.
- Minimum Experience: Six months experience or completion of an approved Medical Assistant Training Program.
- Physical Requirements: Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
