Job Title: Director of Celebrations

Tipton Place, a leading provider of senior living services, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Celebrations to join our team.

About the Role:

The Director of Celebrations will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive lifestyle program that enhances the lives of our residents. This includes planning and coordinating opportunities for residents that promote physical, intellectual, social, emotional, and spiritual growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, schedule, and conduct lifestyle programs that meet the diverse needs and interests of residents.
  • Develop and implement holiday and special event programs that create memorable experiences for residents.
  • Recruit and develop additional resources to support resident services, including volunteers and community partners.
  • Initiate correspondence with external organizations, service groups, and volunteers to promote community engagement.
  • Advise and motivate residents to participate in activities that promote growth and development.
  • Prepare and organize a calendar of events, submitting it to the Executive Director for final approval.
  • Develop and print the community newsletter to keep residents informed about upcoming events and activities.
  • Provide leadership and oversight of the lifestyle program, ensuring it meets the needs and expectations of residents.
  • Coordinate the community library and ensure it is well-stocked and easily accessible.
  • Purchase and maintain equipment and supplies in accordance with budgetary guidelines.
  • Prepare preliminary drafts of the Celebrations Operating Budget.
  • Organize and supervise a volunteer staff, ensuring they are trained and equipped to support resident services.
  • Address resident groups and other groups on subjects of common interest.
  • Maintain a database and prepare reports on resident quality assurance assessments, participation, and satisfaction.
  • Supervise staff of Recreation and Event Coordinators across multiple levels of service in a retirement community.
  • Participate in community in-services to stay up-to-date on best practices and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Recreation, Therapeutic Recreation, Education, Gerontology, Social Work, or Adult Education.
  • Three to five years of related experience, with two years of supervisory/management experience.
