Position: Procurement Specialist

Location: Lenexa, KS

Duration: 06+ Months

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage all related components linked to MRP messages, including purchasing, expediting, deferring, and canceling orders.

• Collaborate with home site and engineering teams for any DCR communications related to assigned commodities or suppliers as directed by the commodity supervisor.

• Establish and monitor supplier performance metrics.

• Ensure that BSP is updated for assigned suppliers and components, working with home site and suppliers to achieve a 100% goal for BSP utilization.

• Procure materials, components, supplies, and equipment in accordance with established purchasing policies and procedures, focusing on optimizing price, delivery, and terms; typically managing purchases totaling $3-5 million annually.

• Oversee the performance of assigned suppliers, particularly in terms of delivery, cost, and capacity/recovery, ensuring MRP health; escalate issues impacting production as necessary.

• Review and issue purchase requisitions; follow up and expedite as needed.

• Work cross-functionally with various departments, including Manufacturing Engineering, Design Engineering, Quality Engineering, Materials, Receiving, Inspection, Operations, Finance, Customer Service, and Production Planning to coordinate purchase timing, quantities, pricing, and delivery/storage of goods, supporting business objectives around output, efficiency, and inventory costs.

• Perform additional related duties and projects as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and/or four years of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Proven ability to achieve results in a manufacturing setting.

• Familiarity with JDE MRP/ERP systems.

• Understanding of Bill of Materials (BOM) structure.

• Ability to interpret technical drawings and identify material specifications.

• Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Essential Skills:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership.

• Proven ability to build credibility and influence suppliers, customers, and key stakeholders; adept at fostering strong relationships.

• Effective problem-solving and expediting abilities.

• Highly organized with sound judgment; capable of multitasking and adapting to changing priorities in a dynamic environment.
