We are seeking a Modeling and Simulation Engineer who possesses the technical acumen and leadership capabilities necessary to spearhead the design and development of cutting-edge Land and Air Defense Systems. The Integrated Air & Missile Defense Systems (IAMDS) department is at the forefront of Systems Engineering, driving the development of intricate systems that support our Land and Air Defense Systems mission. Our team of systems thinkers collaborates to devise innovative technical solutions to some of the most challenging issues faced globally. Key technical areas include Radar Systems, Sensor Integration, Effector Systems, Command and Control, Communications, Network Architecture, and Interoperability for both domestic and international clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to align design strategies and requirements analysis. Assess and manage technical risks associated with program requirements and design elements. Create and sustain modeling tools that integrate Digital Signal Processing (DSP) with intricate time domain components. Apply radar system principles, including detection, discrimination, tracking, and signal processing algorithms, to model their functionalities and performance. Utilize effector system principles, including guidance and fuzing, to model their functionalities and performance.

Required Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with 8 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field with 5 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required. In-depth knowledge of complex Digital Signal Processing and the ability to develop sophisticated time domain signal models for design support and requirements analysis. Proven experience in developing and coding system models, algorithms, test vectors, and analysis tools to evaluate radar requirements and performance. An active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is necessary as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

A Master's degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or a related discipline. Demonstrated experience in capturing system requirements, design, and decomposition. Advanced understanding of radar system concepts, including detection, discrimination, tracking, and signal processing algorithms and their performance characteristics. Proficiency in interpreting technical design documents and electrical schematics. A track record of taking ownership of tasks and leading technical initiatives across multiple stakeholders, with effective communication skills at all organizational levels. Experience with MATLAB for model development. Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving abilities.

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD, reflecting a good faith estimate representative of various experience levels. RTX considers multiple factors when extending an offer, including the role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for various benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability, 401(k) matching, flexible spending accounts, and paid time off.
