The Clinical Laboratory Technologist II is vital in providing accurate and prompt diagnostic information that aids in patient care and treatment choices.
Responsibilities:
Conducts all activities related to the examination of laboratory specimens, ensuring compliance with established protocols and guidelines to deliver precise and trustworthy test results.
Maintains and troubleshoots advanced instrumentation and testing systems, documenting corrective measures prior to releasing testing outcomes to ensure reliable test results.
Organizes responsibilities and manages workload to fulfill established laboratory turnaround expectations for effective patient care and treatment decisions.Stays informed on annual competencies, ongoing education requirements, and regulatory standards, ensuring adherence to safety and compliance protocols.
Practices efficient utilization of resources and actively engages in inventory management to sustain a cost-effective and well-equipped laboratory.Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
Required:
Associate's Degree in medical laboratory technology, clinical laboratory science, or chemical, physical, or biological science.
EXPERIENCE:
Preferred:
1 year of experience as a technologist in a hospital or similar clinical laboratory setting.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
Required:
Certification or eligibility as a Clinical Laboratory Technician is required from ASCP (American Society of Clinical Pathologists) - Clinical Laboratory Technician with AMT (American Medical Technologists); Certification must be completed within one year from the date of hire.
Preferred:
ASCP (American Society of Clinical Pathologists).
