Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Manager to lead our Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program in the Pasadena region. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for directing the program's activities, supervising staff and volunteers, and advocating for residents in long-term care facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigations and Compliance
    • Conduct thorough investigations of reports of alleged elder and dependent adult abuse in long-term care facilities.
    • Ensure that all complaints are handled in accordance with program guidelines and regulations.
  • Staff Supervision and Development
    • Train, recruit, assign, and supervise Ombudsman staff, interns, and volunteers.
    • Provide ongoing support and guidance to ensure the success of the program.
  • Community Education and Outreach
    • Develop and implement community education presentations and programs to raise awareness about elder abuse and long-term care issues.
    • Collaborate with community partners, such as law enforcement and local fire departments, to promote the program's mission.
  • Program Management and Evaluation
    • Collect and report accurate statistical data on program activities and outcomes.
    • Develop and implement strategies to improve program effectiveness and efficiency.
Requirements
  • Education
    • A Master's degree in social work (MSW) or a related field is required.
  • Experience
    • At least three years of experience in gerontology, complaint investigation, mediation, negotiation, health care delivery, long-term care, and advocacy.
    • Previous experience in volunteer management and staff supervision/management.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work effectively with ethnically diverse populations.
    • Strong leadership and management skills.
