About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Software Engineer to join our Enterprise People Technology team at Walmart Global Tech. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing high-performance and scalable People API Gateway that meet the needs of millions of Walmart associates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Implementation: Design and implement the Apollo Federation model for the Gateway, ensuring seamless integration with multiple markets.
  • Consumer and Provider Onboarding: Oversee the onboarding process of both consumers and providers into the gateway, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
  • Continuous Improvement and SRE Support: Continuously monitor the performance of the gateway and identify opportunities for improvement, ensuring optimal system performance and reliability.
Requirements
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in handling HTTP methods, status codes, and data transformations, as well as expertise in server-side development, asynchronous programming, and frameworks like Spring.
  • Programming Languages: Strong understanding of Java language, object-oriented programming, and J2EE frameworks, as well as mastery of HTML/CSS, ES6 syntax, and JavaScript frameworks like React or Angular.
  • Database Management: Proficiency in designing schemas, GraphQL syntax, and tools like Apollo, as well as expertise in distributed systems, managing Kafka clusters, and Kafka APIs.
  • Cloud Computing: Advanced skills in container orchestration, managing and deploying applications using Kubernetes.
