Position Overview:
You will oversee IT Software Asset Management services and capabilities within the IT Asset Management Department of Infrastructure. This role encompasses the management of software licenses to enhance cost efficiency and ensure compliance, alongside the reporting and governance of software lifecycle management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the IT Asset Management team in the comprehensive lifecycle management of the organization’s software assets.
  • Oversee software licenses to maximize efficiency and ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate with sourcing, financial, and purchasing departments on the accurate documentation of software acquisitions and licensing agreements.
  • Develop and maintain software models and entitlements.
  • Ensure an accurate inventory of software assets, including version control, licensing specifics, and usage metrics.
  • Monitor software usage and license compliance to guarantee optimal cost-effectiveness and technology asset utilization, including necessary software removal and reclamation activities.
  • Contribute to the formulation and enhancement of software asset lifecycle policies, processes, and workflows, including deprovisioning and software re-harvesting.
  • Generate and maintain reports on licensing and lifecycle to ensure the health of software asset management processes.
  • Provide input and maintain a software renewal calendar.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance IT Asset Management - SAM operations.
Required Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Over 4 years of proven experience in IT Asset Management with a focus on software and licensing.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with ServiceNow; SAMPro platform experience is preferred, along with familiarity with other SAM tools.
  • Proficient in utilizing SAM tools and software license management platforms, as well as Configuration Management (CMDB).
  • Deep understanding of software licensing models, compliance requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Working knowledge of ITIL and IT Service Management (ITSM) frameworks.
  • IAITAM and CSAM certification is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Self-motivated and self-directed with the capability to manage and lead team members in departmental projects.
The estimated salary range for this position is between $130,000.00 and $150,000. Actual salary may vary based on job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This position is also eligible for incentive compensation.
