Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate cranes with a focus on safety, efficiency, and adherence to established protocols.
  • Engage with ground crew members in a cooperative manner to direct the movement of concrete products throughout the yard.
  • Transport products from manufacturing areas to designated locations such as the acid wash zone or storage areas.
  • Assist in preparing items for shipment by retrieving products from storage, loading them onto trailers, and ensuring secure transport.
  • Utilize front-end loaders and forklifts for the movement of various materials.
  • Maintain a clean and organized yard, ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel.
  • Conduct pre-operation inspections of equipment to confirm safe functionality.
  • Assemble and securely wrap concrete products on pallets for delivery.
  • Report any mechanical issues or equipment concerns to supervisory staff.
  • Follow operational guidelines and procedures with precision and timeliness.
  • Actively pursue opportunities for skill enhancement and increased responsibilities.
  • Identify and suggest improvements to processes to enhance efficiency and reduce errors.
  • Perform yard maintenance tasks, including organizing tools and clearing debris.
  • Comply with all safety regulations and policies.
  • Assist with crane rigging and signaling for transport operators as required.
  • Carry out additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in crane operation or other heavy machinery, with a willingness to learn.
  • Familiarity with yard vehicles and equipment, including forklifts and skid loaders.
  • Basic knowledge of concrete handling preferred.
  • Ability to follow supervisory instructions effectively.
  • Willingness to work in varying weather conditions.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Commitment to a strong work ethic.
  • Availability for overtime as necessary.
