About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Industrial Superintendent to join our team at Atlantic Constructors, Inc. This is a key leadership position that requires a strong background in industrial construction operations, with a focus on supervising field crews, managing budgets, and ensuring quality and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of field crews, subcontractors, and craft activities, including determining methods of construction, manpower levels, material quantities, equipment, and scheduling.
  • Coordinate the work of different crafts, company departments, and/or other contractors to ensure efficient and effective project execution.
  • Identify and document potential change orders, and work with project teams to resolve issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with internal project teams, customers, subcontractors, and key vendors to ensure a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings and ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate on-site functions, including material take-offs, ordering tools and materials, and managing production and quality control.
  • Responsible for the quality installation of hydronic, gas, and steam piping systems, as well as other mechanical trade disciplines.
  • Manage production, on-time delivery, and cost control, and ensure compliance with project schedules, specifications, and drawings.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing company standards and procedures.
  • Act as a liaison with engineering, estimating, and project teams to ensure compliance with project requirements and specifications.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure all required materials and equipment, inspections, and support craft activities are in place.
  • Resolve problems and issues related to construction operations, including productivity monitoring, craft compliance with project safety program requirements, and documenting and implementing corrective actions.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of industrial experience in field pipe fitting and industrial operations, or equivalent combination of vocational training and experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of welding, fitting, rigging, and overall knowledge of hydronic, steam, and gas systems.
  • Ability to successfully supervise large crews (20+).
  • Knowledge of other mechanical trade disciplines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Previous knowledge of man hour reports, job cost reports, workforce planning, and estimating.
  • Advanced understanding of construction cost control, forecasting, and setting goals.
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to work across varied disciplines.
  • Knowledge of other mechanical trade disciplines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to effectively present information to customers, clients, and colleagues.
  • OSHA 30 and CPR certification.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of reading, interpreting, and working to design drawings, design guides, specifications, support drawings, and contract documents.
  • Must be able to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail, and demonstrate problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to pass a post-offer pre-employment drug screen, and may be required to satisfactorily complete additional background checks as required.
  • Must adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Must be available and have the means to report to multiple job sites as assigned.
Work Environment and Physical Demands

This role requires working in varying temperatures, both inside and outside, including inclement weather, heat, humidity, cold, and dampness. May work in areas with exposure to moderate/high noise levels, and may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, including dust. May be required to work in confined spaces or from high heights.

This role routinely uses construction equipment, such as heavy machinery, hand and power tools. While performing duties of the job, the employee may work aloft, climb, bend, pull, reach overhead, stand/walk for long periods of time, and lift up to 50 lbs. Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to correctly identify all colors of a color-coded cable/wires and see close vision, distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.

May require travel, typically not overnight.
