Job Responsibilities and Qualifications
  • Prepares patients and gathers pertinent information for procedure completion.
  • Conducts all sonographic procedures adhering to established protocols.
  • Safely transfers and positions patients.
  • Monitors patients' conditions and alerts physicians or supervisors of any unusual occurrences.
  • Compiles necessary records to facilitate timely results.
  • Evaluates image quality and processes as required.
  • Proficiently operates electronic information systems.
  • Maintains adequate supplies and ensures a clean, organized workspace.
  • Engages in continuing education activities to enhance knowledge of sonography.
  • Initiates patient education, including family and/or significant others.
  • Participates in Quality Control/Quality Improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications

EXPERIENCE:

Required - Minimum of one year of experience in a hospital Ultrasound Department.

Preferred - One year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist; an additional year of experience as a Mammographer is advantageous.

EDUCATION:

Required - Graduate from an accredited sonography program. RDMS certification is mandatory. CPR eligibility is required.

Preferred - In addition to the required education, certification in CPR, ARRT, and Mammography is desirable.
