We are seeking a motivated Clinical Laboratory Technician PRN to help us achieve our objectives.
Job Responsibilities and QualificationsAs a Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT), you will perform various laboratory tests across specialty departments, including Hematology, Clinical Chemistry, Blood Bank, Serology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, and Microbiology. Your work will be crucial in providing data for diagnosing, treating, and preventing diseases.
- Your daily responsibilities will include conducting complex analyses of microscopic, immunologic, biologic, bacteriologic, hematologic, and chemical tests and interpreting their results.
- You will manage specimen intake and organize supplies upon arrival in the department.
- Instrument troubleshooting and documentation of corrective actions will be part of your duties, along with performing necessary repairs.
- Quality control measures must be adhered to and properly logged, with corrective actions taken as needed.
- You will demonstrate the expertise and skills required to train new staff and students.
- Active participation in phlebotomy and accession responsibilities is expected.
Experience: Previous experience as a Medical Lab Technician or Medical Lab Scientist is preferred.
Education: An Associate's Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Biological, Chemical, or Physical Science is required. A Nursing Degree may be considered if it includes the necessary CLIA-approved courses. A preferred qualification is an Associate's Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or Laboratory Science.
Certification: Successful completion of registry within 12 months of hire is required for individuals hired after a specified date. Registry or licensure in a specialty area will be considered. Preferred certifications include ASCP, AMT, NCA, or HEW. Continuing education to maintain registry or licensure is mandatory.
