Job Summary and QualificationsAs an Cardiac Sonographer, you would perform all established echocardiography procedures. While communicating the nature of the procedure to the patient, you will address any questions or concerns.
· Performs accurate analysis of all cardiac anatomy and assimilates appropriate data necessary for interpretation of study and assesses the same for the staff.
· Assists the physician as needed during procedures and monitors physiological parameters during procedures.
· Demonstrates proficiency in operating and troubleshooting equipment in the Echo Lab.
· Performs job to ensure quality care is provided within defined area of accountability.
· Safely transports Echo machine to patient room to perform Echocardiogram or transports patients to department as necessary.
Requirements
· Graduate of an accredited Cardiac Sonography program. RDS eligible or registered.
· Graduate of an accredited program in Vascular/Cardiac Sonography and additional courses in management. Employees hired prior to February 1, 2010 shall have ARDMS or CCI registration achieved by February 2011. All other employees will have completed their ARDMS or CCI registration by the first anniversary date of employment. Or equivalent on the job training can be accepted in lieu of education.
· 2 years of cardiac/echo sonographer experience- preferred
· Basic Life Support Certification.
