Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Summer Research and Development Intern to join our team in Garner, NC. As an R&D Intern, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects that support our business within the Research and Development Team.
Key Responsibilities- Become familiar with the product development lifecycle and Stage Gate project management system
- Gain understanding of product production processes through production line tour and audit
- Gain project management experience with New Products, Process Improvement projects
- Execute a continuous improvement project (savings or operational efficiency)
- Learn to design and execute a production test in the production environment.
- Review your test findings with key internal stakeholders for approval
- Pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Food Science, Poultry, Animal Science, or related field with an expected graduation date of December 2025 through June 2026
- Proficiency in math and background in statistics
- Interest in poultry/meat food manufacturing
- Previous coursework on lean and/or lean Six Sigma practices
- Bilingual English and Spanish (preferred but not required)
