Staff Psychiatrist Outpatient Specialist

UTMB Health seeks a skilled Staff Psychiatrist Outpatient Specialist to provide direct psychiatric care to offenders assigned to outpatient facilities within the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ).
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct psychiatric care to assigned patients, including conducting psychiatric, physical, and neurological examinations.
Participate in civil commitment proceedings for mentally ill patients being released from the TDCJ.
Conduct due process proceedings for voluntary admission and compelled psychoactive medication.
Provide clinical supervision to psychiatric mid-level practitioners as assigned by the clinical director.
Work effectively with all CMS and UR processes and personnel.
Requirements
Must hold a current license to practice medicine by the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners.
Eligible for Board Certification in Psychiatry.
Must hold a current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) controlled substances registration certification.
Preferred Qualifications
Two (2) years of experience in a similar role.
Experience with digital medical utilization.
Salary is commensurate with years of relevant work experience.
