Position Overview:
As a Surgical First Assistant, you will play a crucial role in the operating room, providing direct support to surgeons throughout surgical procedures. Your expertise will ensure that patients receive the highest standard of care during their surgical journey.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Patient Positioning: Effectively position patients to optimize exposure for surgical procedures while ensuring their comfort and safety.
2. Assisting Surgeons: Implement physician orders to enhance visualization of the surgical site, utilizing techniques such as tissue manipulation, retraction, sponging, suctioning, and irrigation.
3. Hemostasis Management: Utilize appropriate methods to achieve both temporary and permanent hemostasis during procedures.
4. Wound Care: Assist in closing body planes, applying dressings, and securing drainage systems post-surgery.
5. Evidence-Based Practice: Apply the latest evidence-based practices and scientific knowledge to nursing care, tailored to meet the specific needs of patients.

Qualifications:
- Completion of an RNFA program that adheres to AORN standards.
- A minimum of two years of registered nursing experience in an advanced surgical specialty or completion of an RNFA program by an APRN.
- Current certifications in Basic Life Support and Registered Nurse licensure.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to communicate effectively, stand, walk, and perform various physical tasks throughout the shift.
- Frequent lifting and carrying of light to moderate weights.
