Professional Truck Operator

Key Responsibilities: The following duties are essential to the role:

Transportation & Delivery
  • Safely delivers bulk feed according to specified requirements.
  • Maintains courteous and safe driving practices at all times.
  • Adheres to all DOT, OSHA, and NEW Cooperative safety regulations and procedures.
  • Ensures product quality is upheld prior to unloading.
  • Develops a thorough understanding of the customer's livestock operations to minimize delivery errors.
  • Accurately completes all driving logs and necessary documentation in a timely manner.
Equipment Maintenance
  • Conducts regular maintenance on vehicles to prevent the spread of livestock diseases.
  • Checks truck compartments routinely to avoid feed hang-ups between deliveries.
  • Follows established procedures to prevent cross-contamination of products.
  • Performs or coordinates repairs and preventative maintenance on trucks and equipment.
  • Maintains cleanliness of vehicles to uphold a positive company image.
  • Ensures that the work area and equipment are kept clean and well-maintained.
Additional Duties
  • Utilizes all tools and equipment safely and appropriately.
  • Assists in various tasks as required by the location.
  • Willing to work extended hours during peak seasons as directed by management.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Must possess a valid and insurable driver's license.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Class A CDL (Commercial Driver's License).
  • Must pass a D.O.T. physical examination every two years as mandated by law.
  • Recognizes the significance of delivering exceptional customer service.
  • High school diploma or GED with 1-3 months of relevant experience.
  • Must own and be proficient in using a smartphone.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety regulations, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to apply common sense to follow instructions provided in various formats.
  • Comprehends the seasonal nature of the farm supply industry and the associated time commitments.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues at all levels.
  • Possesses problem-solving skills and understands operational processes.
